In case you were looking for programs to create and listen to mp3s, here is everything you desire; (all programs are for win95 or NT 4.0) if you use a different opperating system software is also available
for ripping music into wav format from a cd use Windac v1.41 you then need to encode it to mp3 with MpegEncoder v0.007a and then enjoy the music with winamp v1.9

unreal player v1.20 - supports many file formats aside from mp3. Very clean design and low cpu usage. If mp3s aren't you're only passion it handles midi, wav, cd audio, avi, mod, s3m, it and xm just as nicely. site at http://www.303tek.com
nad v0.93 - runner up in the mp3 player market, but my top chioce becuase of low cpu usage and continuous playback. Overall very clean and easy to use design. http://nad.inept.org
jet audio v3.12 very nice looking player, also supports a series of formats such as the other popular streaming audio formal, real audio. http://www.cowon.com
